On January 1, 2010, The Brooklyn College Brass Ensemble performed for the Inauguration of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, at City Hall, NYC. The ensemble performed the premiere of a work by Douglas Hedwig, commissioned for this event by the Mayor's Office. The work is entitled, "Promenade for a Great City."
